Chrome switched off the interface ad blockers ran on for years. AdSilence never used it: it works with the rules the browser applies itself.
Extensions used to intercept every request and decide for themselves. That interface is gone from Chrome — anything built on it no longer blocks there the way it did. What is new: the rules sit in the browser, and the browser applies them.
AdSilence grew up on these rules; it was not converted to them afterwards. There is no old path being carried along, and no feature that fell away in the switch.
Tested against the widely used extensions, AdSilence reaches the full score out of the box. How we measured it and how to repeat it is on the test page.
