Which ad blocker blocks the most? We measured the most widely used extensions with an external test, all of them free. Here are the results, the procedure and how to repeat it.
We measure with an external, publicly available test. It calls real advertising, analytics and tracking services and counts how many get through. We select nothing — which services are checked is up to the operator of that site.
Not because our lists are better — they are largely the same ones everybody uses. The difference is how many of them are switched on after installation.
The extra lists cost nothing in any of these extensions — it is a checkbox, not a purchase. The right-hand column shows what happens when you enable every list the platform allows.
The simplest way: install an extension, open the test and look at the score. That is exactly what we do.
